Memorial Service Photography : Funeral Photographers
Why Memorial Service Photography?
Many people have never heard of memorial service photography or funeral photography. Although it has been around for some time, it was typically only used when documenting the services of prominent men and women in power (primarily for news reports and various media outlets). I feel strongly that an occasion so unique and memorable should have the chance to be documented and recorded.
I get asked a lot, “Is that really a good time to be taking pictures?” This is a very valid question and something I don’t take lightly. The passing of a loved one is always difficult, regardless if it was expected or unexpected. The depth of the emotions felt during this time can be very challenging. While I realize that capturing photographs in this type of setting isn’t for everyone, I also know that for some, these images will provide an opportunity to remember and pass on the legacy of a loved one.
